I have a performance focus, using creative approaches that deliver demonstrable results. The scope of my coaching has been working in bespoke, one-to-one coaching programmes.
Transformative coaching
I’m interested in transformative coaching, unlocking the potential that the coachee has in order to to build on their leadership style and maximise their performance.
I coach primarily through face-to-face meetings or by video, with additional fast feedback available by phone or text.
Business performance coaching
Drawing on my successful turnaround, growth and exit experience, I work mainly with marketing services businesses to improve their performance.
This isn’t abstract teaching or theory – I work side-by-side with you, to sharpen and focus your ambition. At the same time, we’ll stay grounded in the realities of the market, the business’ capabilities and the goals of stakeholders.
Experience and previous roles
Working with the Premier League, I coach in an elite sport environment across all levels of professional football. In business, Stratus coaching clients include business owners, C-suite and senior executives. Working in various sectors, my passion is for fast-paced organisations with an appetite for change.
I have a BA honours degree in Economics and a post-graduate qualification from the Financial Times – the Non-Executive Director Diploma. I’m a keynote speaker for the Financial Times in various non-executive workshops and courses.
As an experienced portfolio director, I’ve held a selection of NED roles in different international organisations. These different experiences, in different geographies and sectors, inform and contribute to my understanding.
I am a Supporter of the House of St Barnabas, an award-winning social enterprise providing an ground-breaking employment academy for the homeless. I am also Mentor for the Beyond Barriers programme, a student mentor scheme run by Kingston University.

A validated business performance process.
This uses a novel scoring system developed by Stratus and used many times by my clients. It focuses on the simplicity of a balanced scorecard. The outcome is open discussion, team alignment and a purposeful direction for management teams.
It happens by way of a self-scored, honest appraisal of the business. You’ll agree and prioritize what you want to change in the business, with a roadmap of how to do it afterwards. It works.

This Finance Workshop is run by an experienced Agency FD and me. Our goal is to create operational efficiencies in time utilisation, margin improvement, addressing profitability challenges. This carries on afterwards with 1 2 1 FD or Finance Team coaching or mentoring.

An honest appraisal of the current leadership group.
